Over the last two and a half years activists have targeted contractors and subcontractors working on the project known as Cop City. Through call-in campaigns, home and office demonstrations, and clandestine sabotage, pressure has been applied to these companies in an effort to get them to stop their involvement with the project. Multiple contractors have backed out as a result. The Atlanta Police Foundation seeks to offset the risk that the remaining contractors are subject to through their coverage by insurance contracts. Nationwide and Accident Fund are the insurance providers.
By uncovering the Atlanta Police Foundation, they will be exposed to risk directly. Moreover, the State of Georgia requires 501c(3) organizations to maintain coverage at all times. If they lose coverage, they cannot operate until it is replaced. If either insurance company drops the APF as a client, then all work on Cop City must stop immediately. If we can successfully convince the insurance providers to suspend their coverage of Cop City and the Atlanta Police Foundation, we can stop work on the project and protect the Weelaunee Forest.
We need your help. These companies have locations and subsidiaries across the country, many more than any of the contractors. Take action where you live to stop Cop City!
